Nellie M. Pennington

Nellie M. Pennington, 63, of Coatesville, PA, passed away on Saturday, January 27, 2024, in West Chester, PA.  Born in Coatesville, she was the daughter of the late Marvin Duffy and Martha Pennington.

Nellie was employed as a cafeteria worker for the Downingtown School District.

She enjoyed playing the lottery, socializing with friends, and listening to Mary J. Blige. Most of all she treasured the time spent with her beloved grandchildren.

She is survived by her children, Kiesha (Stephen Johnson) Pennington of Coatesville, and John (Danielle) Jennings III of Harrisburg, 16 grandchildren, 1 great-grandchild, and siblings, William Pennington, Steven Pennington, Lisa (Louis) Trammell, Russell (Janet) Pennington, and Kevin Pennington, all of Coatesville, PA.

She was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Justis Johnson, and sisters-in-law’s, Claudette and Maggie.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, February 9, 2024, at 11:00 a.m. from the Wilde Funeral Home, Parkesburg, PA, with visitation starting at 10:00 a.m.  Interment will be private and at the convenience of the family.
