Myra E. Via

Myra E. Via, 88, of Morgantown passed away surrounded by her loving family on Friday, October 29, 2021. Born in Coatesville, she was the daughter of the late Joseph F. Vandegriff and Emma P. (Rappold) Vandegriff and Step-Mother Grace Hershey.  She was the beloved wife of the late Herbert A. Via with whom she shared 30 years of marriage.

An area resident all of her life, Myra was a graduate of Coatesville Area Senior High School and went on to serve as a line worker for Mrs. Smith’s Pie Company, based in Morgantown for over 33 years.

Myra loved spending time with her family. She also enjoyed taking day trips to the casinos with her girlfriends. She also loved to  travel, she has seen some of the most beautiful Islands of Hawaii to Puerto Rico to some of the busiest cities in Las Vegas. Myra made friends with everyone she met through the years and was loved by all who came to know her.

She is survived by one daughter; Frances Rodriguez of Coatesville, four grandchildren; Luis Bills (Stephanie),Allen Bills,Charles Bills and Angela Rodriguez-Zurita 11 great-grandchildren; Dominick Solomon (Celeste), Alyssa Bills,Luis Bills Jr., Danielle Bills, Aubrie Bills, Nathan Bills, Allen Bills Jr.,  Myrissa Rodriguez-Zurita,Jenifer Rodriguez-Zurita, Isabelle Bills, Maria Rodriguez-Zurita 1 great-great-grandchildren, Carter Grove and a new great-great-granddaughter Solomon who is on the way. Additionally, she is survived by a host of nieces, nephews and friends. She was preceded in death by seven siblings; Joseph (Freddy) Vandegriff, Margaret (Sister) Showalter, Andrew (Brother) Vandegriff, Charles Vandegriff, Mary Laboy, Caroline Collins and her baby sister Grace Vandegriff and her Great- Great Grandson Clifford Grove lll.

A funeral service will be held at 11 AM on Thursday, November 4, 2021 from the Wilde Funeral Home, 434 Main St., Parkesburg, PA 19365. Friends and family are invited to attend a visitation period taking place from 10 AM until the start of the service. Interment will take place at Fairview Cemetery in Coatesville directly following the service.
