Morey T. Young

Morey T. "Mole" "Bud" Young, 69, of East Fallowfield, passed away on Sunday, January 10, 2010 surrounded by his family and friends. He loved spending his time with his best friend and wife of 48 years, Blanche E. Perkins Young.

Born in Parkesburg, he was the son of the late Kenneth and Edna Diem Young. He was a 1958 graduate of the Octorara High School and was a retired Machinist, having worked for Bishop Tube Co. for 30 years and G.O. Carlson for 15 years. He was a life member of the the Pomeroy and West Fire Companies as well as an officer for both the U.S. Steel Workers and the Bishop Tube Credit Union.

He enjoyed working on his antique cars and going to car shows with his other best friend, Gordy. He enjoyed hunting, NASCAR and spending most of his time outdoors. He also enjoyed his new found life with his friends at the Highland Baptist Church, where he was a member.

He is survived, in addition to his wife, by two sons: Stephen A. Young of West Grove, M. Thomas Young Jr. of Downingtown; two granddaughters, Elizabeth D. Young and April E. Ward; and siblings, Helen Crane of Parkesburg, Warren Young of Parkesburg, Susan Pyott, wife of Tom, of Parkesburg, Kathryn Young of Parkesburg and George "Pete" Young, husband of Sharon, of Oxford. He was predeceased by two siblings, Patricia Ross and Robert Young.

The Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, January 16 at 11 a.m. at the Highland Baptist Church, 1 East Highland Road, Parkesburg, Pa. with Pastor Mike Chodan officiating. Interment will be held in the Upper Octorara Cemetery of Parkesburg. Friends and family are invited to attend the visitation, which will be held at the Church from 9 until 11 AM.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to either the American Diabetes Assoc. or to the Neighborhood Hospice Center.
