Martin P. "Butch" Myers, 66, of Parkesburg, passed away on Saturday, June 6, 2009 at the Chester County Hospital in West Chester. He was the beloved husband of Kay Wolfe Myers, with whom he shared 45 years of marriage.
Born on October 18, 1942 in Coatesville, Pa., he was the son of the late Edith Withrow Myers and Robert L. Myers. An area resident his entire life, Butch was employed as an Ironworker for 30 plus years, retiring in 2001. He was a member of the Parkesburg United Presbyterian Church, and a civic member of the Coatesville Moose Lodge and a union member of the Local 401 Ironworkers of Philadelphia. Butch enjoyed motorcycles and hotrods.
He is survived, in addition to his wife, by his son, Butch Myers, husband of Lisa, of Parkesburg; grandchildren, Chelsy Oswald, Amber Myers, Martin Myers, and Kirsten, John, Emily, Amelia, and Olivia DeHaven; great, granddaughter, Avery Oswald; and siblings, Pat Hoskins of West Chester, Robert Warden of Cochranville, and Betty Wilmont of East Fallowfield; he also leaves behind many friends, nieces and nephews. Butch was predeceased by his son, Martin L. Myers, and brothers, Robert Myers and Norman Thompson.
The Funeral Service will be held on Friday, June 12, 2009 at 11 a.m. at the Wilde Funeral Home, 434 Main St., Parkesburg, followed by interment in the Upper Octorara Cemetery of Parkesburg. Family and friends are invited to attend the viewing, which will be held from 9 until 11 AM.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in memory of Butch to either the Chester County Hospital Foundation or to the American Heart Assoc.
