Margaret J. Cox

Margaret J. Cox, 87, of Coatesville, passed away on Thursday, July 7th, 2022 under the care of Chester County Hospital of West Chester.  She was the widow of the late Fred Cox, with whom she shared 51 years of marriage before his passing in 2007.

Born in Sadsburyville, Margaret was the daughter of the late Anna (McCorkle) and Wayne Johnson.  She was a graduate of S. Horace Schott Senior High and Goldey-Beacom College.  For 32 years, she worked as a secretary for Coatesville School District, retiring as the principal's secretary.

Margaret was a life member of the former Brandywine Fire Co. Auxiliary, past National Grange member, and past Girl Scout and Cub Scout leader.  She enjoyed working on jigsaw puzzles, traveling, especially to Bar Harbor, Maine, and going for drives and shopping with her daughter Michele.

Margaret is survived by her daughter, Michele L. Cox of Wagontown, and her son, Michael Cox of Coatesville; five nephews, three nieces, and numerous great-nephews and nieces, and great, great-nephews and nieces.

The service will be private at Upper Octorara Cemetery.
