Margaret Downing Lyons

Margaret Downing Lyons, 92, was born in West Chester on March 15, 1921 to the late William C. and Emily C. Downing.  She passed away December 14, 2013 at the Harrison House of Christiana, PA.

Margaret married S. Robert Lyons of West Chester on January 25, 1943 who passed away on March 25, 1999.

Margaret lived in West Chester for 90 years and worked as a seamstress for her brother, T. Lewis Downing at the "On Time Cleaners" in West Chester most of her life.  She was a member of the West Chester United Methodist Church and the New Century Club.  She had many hobbies, loved crafts and sports and in her later years never missed a Phillies game on TV.

She was predeceased by one sister, Ida May Downing and one brother Thomas Lewis Downing Sr.

She is survived by her nephew Thomas L. Downing, Jr., five great nieces and nephews, Karen D. Brown, Carole A. Downing, Thomas L. Downing III, Donna L. Downing-Seiter and Michael B. Downing; four great great nieces and nephew and one great, great, great niece.

The service will be held at the convenience of the family.
