Mabel Banks Stanley

Mabel Banks Stanley, 81, of Christiana, passed away on Wednesday, June 1, 2011 at the Lancaster General Hospital. She was the beloved wife of Edward "Ned" Stanley, with whom she shared 57 years of marriage.

Born in Meadows of Dan, Virginia, she was the daughter of the late Walter and Columbia Jessup Banks.

She is survived, in addition to her husband, by two sons, Thomas Stanley of Lancaster and Bob E. Stanley, husband of Debra, of Christiana; two granddaughters, Margaret and Emma; and one sister, Lucille Lewis of Roanoke, VA.

She was predeceased by six siblings, Mamie Goad, Lonnie Banks, Lloyd Banks, and Clayton Banks, Waymon Banks and Leonard Banks.

Family and friends are invited to attend graveside services on Wednesday, June 8, 2011 at 11:00 am at the Glen Run Cemetery, 641 Lantz Road, Atglen, PA 19310. Memorial donations may be made in her memory to the Octoraro Art Association, 5965 Forge Road, P.O. Box 75, Oxford, PA 19363.
