Luella Fay Foraker, 85, of Oxford, PA, passed away on Sunday, October 17, 2021, at her home. She was the wife of the late George C.Foraker, who passed in August. Born in White Sulpher Springs, Greenbrier County, WV, she was the daughter of the late Wilbur and Georgie Blankenship Sturgell.
Luella was an area resident since 1965. Luella was a member of the Highland Baptist Church in Parkesburg. She previously was employed as a cook for Pocopson Nursing Home.
She is survived by her children, George C. Foraker Jr. and wife Dottie of Connecticut, Franklin Foraker of Delaware, Daniel Foraker of Oxford, Judy Lephew and husband Harold of oxford, Diane Clawson and husband David of Elkton, MD, and David Foraker and wife Tammy of Akron, PA, 16 grandchildren, a host of great-grandchildren, and siblings, Bessie Hemric of PA, Regina Hower, Ruby Napier, Ellen Smith, Henry Sturgell, Vernwane Sturgell, and Dale Sturgell all of VA. She was preceded in death by three infant sisters and brothers, Benny, Gene Sturgell, and Opal Sturgell
Funeral services will be held on Friday, October 22, 2021, at 11:00 a.m. from the Highland Baptist Church, 1 E. Highland Rd., Parkesburg, with visitation from 10:00 a.m. until service time. Interment to follow at Glen Run Baptist Cemetery in Atglen.
