Louise Paxson Morris, 97, of Honey Brook, formerly of Parkesburg, passed away on Friday, June 12, 2009 at the Hickory House Nursing Home of Honey Brook. She was the widow of the late J. Kenneth Morris, who passed away in 2006.
Born in Parkesburg, she was the daughter of the Anna Belle Gilfillan Paxon and Joseph W. Paxson. An area resident her entire life, Louise was a 1931 graduate of former Parkesburg High School as well as the Taylor Business School. She was employed at the former Embreeville State Hospital for 20 years as the Administrative Assistant. She also taught piano.
Louise was a member of the Upper Octorara Presbyterian Church, where she served as organist for 45 years. After retirement, she served as organist at the Parkesburg Presbyterian Church.
She is survived by her daughter, Joanne Lipsig, wife of Ethan, of Pasadena, CA. She was preceded in death by two siblings, Sarah P. Menger and James Paxson.
The Graveside Service will be held at the Upper Octorara Presbyterian Cemetery, Octorara Trail Rd., Parkesburg, on Friday, June 19, 2009 at 11 a.m. with the Rev. William Kelly officiating.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Louise's memory to the Upper Octorara Presbyterian Church, 1121 Octorara Trail, Parkesburg, PA 19365.
