Lois Thomson Laffey

June 4, 1935 — September 27, 2019

Lois Thomson Laffey, 84, of Cochranville, passed away on Friday, September 27th, 2019 at her home, under the care of her beloved family. Lois was the wife of Norman G. Laffey, Sr., with whom she shared 66 years, three months and seven days of marriage.

Born in West Chester, Lois was the daughter of the late Clara Hannum Charsha and Lewis Thomson. She was a 1953 graduate of Henderson High School.  A resident of 2391 Glenville Road for 66 years, Lois was both a homemaker for her family and a bookkeeper for Glenville Farms.  She treasured her family and time spent with them.

She was a member of the Our Lady of Consolation Roman Catholic Church. Lois was part of the Cochranville Golden Agers, the Farm Women, a Sr. Chorus member, and a 4-H Leader for many years.  Lois enjoyed life to the fullest and loved being a wife, mother and grandmother, and friend to all those close to her.

Lois is survived, in addition to her husband, by six children: Norman G. Laffey, Jr., husband of Sue, of Cochranville, Karen L. Kauffman, wife of David, of Cochranville, Michael E. Laffey, husband of Kim, of Cochranville, George J. Laffey of Cochranville, Lisa A. Hershey, wife of Brent, of Mount Joy, and Andrew I. Laffey, husband of Debbie, of Cochranville; 19 grandchildren and 22 great-grandchildren; and two half-brothers, Robert A. Charsha of Iowa and Dennis Thomson of Douglasville, PA.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, October 4th at 11:00 AM at Saint Malachi Church, 76 St Malachi Rd, Cochranville, PA 19330 followed by a private interment in the adjoining cemetery. A viewing will take place at the Church from 9 until 11 AM.
