Lois Cole Benning

Lois Cole Benning, 72, of Cochranville, passed away on Monday, March 28, 2022 at the University of Pennsylvania Hospital in Philadelphia. She was the beloved wife of William Thomas Benning with whom she shared 50 years of marriage. Born in Wilmington, Delaware, she was the daughter of the late Earl Maine Cole and Laura Lamborn Cole.

Lois resided in Phoenixville and Pottstown for many years but came home to the family farm several years ago to be close to her siblings, nieces and nephews. She was a 1967 graduate of Avon Grove High School. She continued her education at Shippensburg College receiving a Bachelor’s Degree in library science.

She was employed by Jones Motors in Spring City, PA as an executive secretary. She attended Manor Presbyterian Church. She and her husband, Tom, were very active in the Phoenixville Jaycees for many years.

Lois was known for her incredible talents and gifts as a seamstress, maker of awesome desserts and for lovingly creating one of a kind crafts/artwork for family and friends.

Lois is survived, in addition to her husband, by four siblings; Charles A. “Chuck” Cole and wife Mary Jane of Cochranville, Mark A. Cole and wife Claudia of Cochranville, David K. Cole and wife Betsy of Cochranville, Rebecca Cole “Becky” Taylor and husband Thomas of Cochranville, sister-in-law Marilyn Cole Wineberg of Honey Brook and many nieces and nephews whom she adored. She was preceded in death by one brother, Ronald H. Cole.

Memorial services will be held on Saturday, April 23, 2022 at the Manor Presbyterian Church, 505 Street Road, Cochranville, PA 19330 with visitation at the church at 10:00AM to be followed by a memorial service at 11:00AM.
