Lois Anne Hagans, 81, of Valley Township, Coatesville, PA, passed away on Sunday, January 22, 2023, in West Chester, PA. She was the wife of Pastor Daniel G. Hagans for over 66 years. Born in Mountain City, TN, she was the daughter of the late William A. and Bonnie Dickens Nichols.
If you asked Lois Hagans who she is, she would tell you that she is a busy mother and a pastor's wife. However, Lois was not only a mother and helpmate but also very active in the ministry and community. She taught Good News Club for Child Evangelism Fellowship for many years. She taught in many of the homes in the community and had the privilege of leading many young people to the Lord.
Lois was a natural leader and organized weekly Sunday School Classes and outreach events for the church, such as Vacation Bible School and Easter Egg Hunts. She later became a guest speaker/teacher for Ladies' Bible Studies.
Lois had a passion for singing Southern Gospel Hymns. She used her gift of singing to encourage many. Lois also sang on the Bible Christianity Television Program in Coatesville for many years.
In recent years Lois used her leadership skills to organize and teach the Share and Care Ministry at Wagontown Chapel. Finally, she enjoyed participating in the 2022 Christmas Play, where she had another opportunity to share the Good News of the Gospel with the children.
Pastor Hagans said that Lois was a precious Jewel mined out of the mountains of Tennessee that God put into his life. Lois Anne Nichols Hagans was a Proverbs 31:10 virtuous woman who loved God and people.
In addition to her husband she is survived by her children, Linda C (Dale) Adams of Coatesville, Susan Bradley of Coatesville, Deborah J. (Ralph) of Prospect Park, PA, and Daniel D. (Zena) Hagans of Newmansville, PA, 11 grandchildren, and 19 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by grandsons, Stephen and Aaron, a great granddaughter Julia Adams, and siblings, Edna Osborne, Ruth Jardin, Mildred Graybeal, William A. Nichols, Bill Nichols, and John Nichols.
Private graveside services at Hephzibah Cemetery will be held at the convenience of the family. A public memorial service at Wagontown Chapel will be held in the future and details will be posted here upon completion. In lieu of flowers memorial donations can be made to Child Evangelism Fellowship, 187 Country Club Road Coatesville, PA 19320.
