Linda Jean Boyer

January 2, 1959 — September 30, 2019

Linda Jean Boyer, 60, of Brandamore, passed away on Monday September 30, 2019 at the Penn Medicine Hospice in West Chester, PA after a short illness. She shared nearly 40 years of marriage with Gary A. Boyer, Sr. Linda was born in Coatesville, the daughter of the late Albert G. and M. Elaine Olonovich (Née Brown).

An area resident all her life, Linda was a 1977 graduate from Coatesville Area High School. Linda grew up in Westwood, moving to Brandamore after her marriage, where she lived until the time of her death. Living next door to her husband’s parents, she developed a very close friendship with her in-laws, Edgar & Phyllis Boyer.

Linda chose a career as a homemaker -- choosing to focus on raising her two sons in a loving home. From these young men came her four grandchildren, whom she adored and would make special food dishes for when they visited.

She had an insatiable appetite for knowledge and information, preferring physical books to digital e-readers. Through her study of the Bible, she learned of her creator Jehovah God to whom she dedicated her life for over 32 years. As one of Jehovah's Witnesses, she loved nature especially flowers and animals, having numerous birds over the years, including her companion of over 27 years, her African Grey parrot Cleo. Linda and family would make trips with her father to the Slate Run area of the state and further enjoy wildlife, especially hummingbirds feeding within a couple of feet in front of her on quiet mornings. While home Linda enjoyed music, hockey (Reading Royals and Flyers) and enjoyed the recent craft beer scene trying all styles. She had an uncanny ability to detect flavors and quality in craft beer and food, making her an excellent cook (and building some notoriety as Linda B942 on Untappd). A good evening for her was enjoying some of her different beer styles and listening to one of her favorite blues guitarists Joe Bonamassa while checking her phone and tablet. She will be missed.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by her sons, Gary A. Boyer, Jr and his wife, Alison of Downingtown, and Justin D. Boyer, and his wife Tamara, of Coatesville. Also her four grandchildren, Andrew, Everly, Moriah and Jaden,  a brother, Jeffrey A. Olonovich, husband of Karen of Parkesburg as well as many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by brother, Albert G. Olonovich, Jr.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend funeral services on Monday, October 7, 2019, from the Wilde Funeral Home, Parkesburg, at 7:00pm. Visitation will be held from 5:00-7:00pm. Interment will be held at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to donate.jw.org or your local SPCA or animal rescue.
