Laura V. Johnson, (Aunt Sis) 102, of Morgantown, PA, formerly of Coatesville, PA, passed away at her home on Wednesday, January 22, 2025. She was the wife of the late Walter G. Johnson. Born in Coatesville, PA, she was the daughter of the late Grant and Bessie Wonderly Hilton. Her eleven brothers and sisters called her Sis, they preceded her in death: Grant, Susie, Grace, Bill, Florence, Harry, Elmer, Madeline (Peg), Anna, Lawrence, and Elizabeth.
She was preceded in death by her son Walter Johnson who passed away in 2023. Laura lived for 16 years in Saxton, with Walter and his wife Mae.
She is survived by her caregiver nieces, Gloria Gay and her husband Dale of Morgantown, and Terri Stiteler and her husband Bill of Honey Brook, PA, a step-grandson, William Brown and his wife Carolyn of Wood, PA, 3 step-great-granddaughters, 10 Step great-great-grandchildren, 2 step great-great-great-grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews, great nieces and great nephews, and great-great nieces and great-great nephews and great-great-great-nieces and great-great-great-nephews.
Laura worked as a sewing machine operator at the Chester County Association for the Blind. She was a former member of Hephzibah Baptist Church in East Fallowfield, PA, and a current member of Pequea Baptist Church in Gap, PA. Laura served as a volunteer for many years at City Gate Mission in Coatesville. Recently she attended Daybreak Adult Day Services at Garden Spot Village where she loved doing crafts, singing, playing games and making new friends.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, January 30, 2025, at 11:00 a.m., from the Pequea Baptist Church, 6062 Old Philadelphia Pike, Gap, PA, with visitation starting at 10:00 a.m. Interment will be private.
