Laura E. Searl

Laura E. Searl, 56, of Atglen, passed away on Sunday, March 24 at the Neighborhood Hospice Center of West Chester.  She was a beloved mother to her children: Heather Ickes Olson of Catonsville, MD and Keith D. Ickes of Atglen; the beloved partner of Stephanie Klingler, with whom she shared 24 years of partnership; grandmother to Siana of Atglen; and sister to Thomas J. Searl of Atglen.

She was a 1974 graduate of the Octorara High School and 1988 graduate of CAT Brandywine's LPN Program.  She was first employed by the Harrison Senior Living Center as an Aid and then eventually as an LPN.

Laura attended both the Parkesburg and Atglen Methodist Churches.

Laura held positions of President, Secretary, Membership Secretary and "Firehouse Mom" at the Atglen Fire Co. and she was a life member the Parkesburg Fire Co.  Laura was one of the first female firefighters of Chester County.

The Funeral Service will be held on Thursday, March 28, 2013 at 11 AM the Wilde Funeral Home, 434 Main St., Parkesburg, followed by interment in the Atglen Methodist Cemetery.  Viewing will be held from 10 until 11 AM.
