Larry Joseph Sweigart

August 16, 1949 — May 18, 2018

Larry Joseph Sweigart, 68, of Coatesville, passed away suddenly at his home on Thursday, May 17, 2018.  He was the beloved husband of the late Susanne, with whom he shared 42 years of marriage.

Born in the old Coatesville Hospital, he was the son of the late Mary (Swisher) and Joseph Sweigart.  He was a 1968 graduate of Coatesville High School.  After graduation, he served honorably in the US Army in Vietnam during the Vietnam War from 1968 to 1970.

He worked for J.D. Eckman, Inc. for 32 years as a heavy equipment operator, retiring just two years ago.

Larry was a hot rod guy and loved going to car shows.  He was a member of the VFW of Coatesville, the Coatesville Moose Lodge 297, and was a F.&A.M. with Brandywine-Goddard Lodge #383.

Larry is survived by his daughter: Candy Sweigart Seese, wife of Todd, of Coatesville; two grandchildren, Cole Kopanski of Coatesville and Haley Sweigart of Birdsboro; and two siblings, Nancy Tyson, wife of Fred, of Coatesville and Ronnie Sweigart, husband of Debbie, of Coatesville.

He was predeceased by his wife Susanne Terriman Sweigart, son Joseph K. Sweigart, and his sister, Dorothy Simmons.

The Funeral Service will be held on Tuesday, May 22, 2018 at 11 AM at Wilde Funeral Home, 434 Main St., Parkesburg, followed by interment at St. John's Cemetery in Compass.  The viewing will be held at the funeral home on both Monday night from 6 until 8 PM and again on Tuesday morning from 10 until the time of the service.
