Kathryn Edna Diem

Kathryn Edna Diem, 78, of Parkesburg, passed away on Saturday, March 19, 2016 at the Denver Health and Rehabilitation Center under the care of Hospice.

Born in West Sadsbury Twp., Chester County, she was the daughter of the late Kathryn (Brubaker) and Warren Diem. She graduated from Coatesville High School, class of 1957.

Kathryn enjoyed gardening as well as cooking and collecting cookbooks. She loved cats, polar bears, foxes and bird watching. She enjoyed listening to Irish and classical music and had a deep interest in British history. Kathryn enjoyed traveling and spending time at Hemlock Acres, the family mountain cottage, as well at Bethany Beach, Delaware. She was a member of the National Button Society, Red Rose Button Society and the Pennsylvania Dutch Button Club.

She was a Christian by faith and had attended Upper Octorara Presbyterian Church. She practiced her faith by devoting her life to taking care of her family.

Kathryn is survived by one sister Dorothy C. Diem. She was preceded in death by a sister Margaret E. Diem.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, March 24, 2016 at 2:00pm from the Wilde Funeral Home, 434 Main St. Parkesburg, PA followed by interment at the Zeltenreich Cemetery, New Holland, PA. Viewing and visitation from 1:00pm to 2:00pm.
