Kathryn Colyer

Kathryn Colyer, 89, of East Fallowfield, PA, passed away on Saturday, March 1, 2025 at the Chester County Hospital in West Chester surrounded by her children. She was the wife of the late R. Glenn Colyer who died in 2023. They shared over 66 years of marriage. Born in Progress, PA, she was the daughter of the late Harry Ross Johnston and Anna Regina Withrow Johnston

She was an area resident all her life. Kathryn “Kitty” was a 1954 graduate of the former Scott High School in Coatesville. She was employed at Bell Telephone and for many years, at the Coleman Saab Auto Shop of Coatesville as a bookkeeper.

She was a faithful member of the Towerville Christian Church. She enjoyed traveling with the Parkesburg Seniors as well as family trips to Sarasota, Florida.

She is survived by two children R. Glenn Colyer, Jr. and wife Pam of Sarasota, Florida and Karen Colyer Taylor of East Fallowfield, six grandchildren; two great grandchildren; and one sister Elizabeth Pavelik. She was preceded in death by two sons; Michael Colyer and Scott Colyer and four siblings; Margaret Mowday, Harry Johnston, Doris Leslie and Janet Leslie.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, March 5, 2025 at 11:00 AM at the Towerville Christian Church, 10 Hannum Drive, East Fallowfield, PA, 19320 with visitation at the church from 10:00 AM to the time of the service. Interment will follow at the Friendship Methodist Cemetery, Gum Tree, PA.
