Joyce T. Sutton

Joyce T. Sutton, formerly of Parkesburg, passed away on September 6, 2017, near Atlanta, GA, after a long illness.

Joyce​ ​T.​ ​Sutton​ ​was​ ​born​ ​to​ ​Mildred​ ​Taltoan on​ ​June​ ​2,​ ​1943.​ ​However,​ ​she​ ​was​ ​adopted and​ ​raised​ ​ ​by​ ​Richard​ ​and​ ​Florence​ ​Taltoan Jones.​ ​Joyce​ ​is​ ​a​ ​graduate​ ​of​ ​Octorara​ ​High School,​ ​“class​ ​of​ ​62.”​ ​ ​Joyce​ ​loved​ ​caring​ ​for others​ ​which​ ​led​ ​her​ ​to​ ​choose​ ​a​ ​career​ ​in nursing.​ ​She​ ​worked​ ​as​ ​a​ ​nurse​ ​for​ ​Clement Atkinson​ ​Memorial​ ​Hospital,​ ​and​ ​the​ ​VA hospital​ ​both​ ​located​ ​in​ ​Coatesville,​ ​PA.​ ​ ​ ​On August​ ​29,​ ​1964,​ ​Joyce​ ​married​ ​ ​Charles​ ​H. Sutton​ ​Sr.​ ​and​ ​to​ ​their​ ​union​ ​was​ ​born​ ​three children:​ ​Charles​ ​H.​ ​Sutton,​ ​II.,​ ​Pamela Elizabeth​ ​Pitts,​ ​and​ ​James​ ​Alan​ ​Sutton. Although​ ​they​ ​later​ ​divorced,​ ​they​ ​remained life​ ​long​ ​friends.​ ​ ​She​ ​is​ ​survived​ ​by:​ ​Luis Taltoan​ ​(brother),​ ​ ​Arlene​ ​Missie​ ​Taltoan (sister);​ ​ ​Grandkids:​ ​Charles​ ​Sutton​ ​III,​ ​Krissie Marie​ ​Sutton,​ ​Anthony​ ​Pitts,​ ​Marissa​ ​Pitts, Jalien​ ​Sutton,​ ​ ​Jae’​ ​Smith,​ ​Jazmyne​ ​Sutton, Christopher​ ​Robison,​ ​Ja’kia​ ​Sutton,​ ​and Jaheim​ ​Sutton;​ ​one​ ​great-grand:​ ​Charles​ ​H. Sutton​ ​IV;​ ​Two​ ​aunts:​ ​Mary​ ​Boggs​ ​Grove,​ ​and Gladys​ ​Taltoan​ ​and​ ​a​ ​host​ ​of​ ​nieces,​ ​nephews, cousins​ ​and​ ​friends.

A memorial service for Joyce will be held on Saturday, September 16, 2017, at 1:00pm from the Tabernacle Baptist Church in Coatesville.  All are welcomed as are covered dishes for a time of fellowship and reflection.
