Joseph A. Thomas, Sr.

Joseph A. Thomas, Sr, 75 of Kirkwood, PA. and Port Orange, FL. went to be with the Lord on Thursday, June 4th, 2015 surrounded by his loving family.  He was the husband of Ann M. "Dolly" DiObilda Thomas.

Born in Coatesville, PA, he was the son of the late Joseph W. Thomas and Clarabel H. (Dickinson)Thomas-Newnam. Joe attended Scott Senior High School.  He served in the United States Marine Corps and was a proud devoted American.  He was a master carpenter throughout his life, and worked as a project manager before retiring.

He attended Andrews Bridge Christian Church in PA, and First Assembly of God in FL.
He is survived by three children; son Joseph A. Thomas Jr. of Kirkwood, daughter Carla Garcia and husband Tony of Cape Coral, FL, son Bruce E. Thomas of Jonestown, beloved sister Linda E. Thomas of Lewistown, half brother Christopher, L. Thomas of Pomeroy, step brother Joe Newnam of Parkesburg, and step sister Jeana Carter of Christiana.

He is also survived by two grandsons, Joseph A.Thomas III, wife Nataly of New Providence, & Antonio Garcia of Cape Coral, FL, a great nephew he often thought of as a grandson and mentored, Joseph Duncan of Lewistown, and many, many nieces, nephews, great nieces & nephews, and great grandchildren, all of whom he loved dearly.  He was predeceased by his two brothers, John (Barry)Thomas and Terry H.Thomas, and his step father Robert Newnam.

He was a loving husband, father, uncle, great uncle, grandfather, great grandfather & friend to many.

Joe was fond of the many friends who visited him throughout the years hanging out, talking, working on cars & racing. In the last years before his passing, Joe wanted everyone to know who the Lord Jesus Christ was and his significance.

Family and friends are welcome to attend a celebration of life at Andrews Bridge Christian Church, 1873 Georgetown Rd. (Rte 896) Christiana, PA. 17509 on Thursday, June 11th at 1:00 p.m. with a luncheon immediately after.
