John S. "Jack" Monaghan

John S. "Jack" Monaghan, 94, of Downingtown, PA, formerly of Parkesburg, PA, passed away on Friday, August 23, 2024 at the St. Martha's Manor Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Downingtown. He was the husband of the late Barbara Brittingham Lawson Monaghan who died in 2014. Born in West Chester, PA he was the son of the late Jerome J. Monaghan, Sr. and Mary L. Simmler Monaghan.

Jack was a County resident all his life and a 1948 graduate of the West Chester High School.
He was employed by UPS as a truck driver retiring in 1991.

He is survived by three children; Carol Wood of Coatesville, PA, Keith Monaghan of Havertown, PA and Kathy Monaghan of Reedsville, PA, two grandchildren; Brooke Monaghan and Patrick Monaghan and one great grandson James Monaghan. He was preceded in death by two children; Bonnie Monaghan and  Kevin Monaghan, one grandson Brian Monaghan and one stepson son Peter L. Lawson.

Graveside services will be held on Friday, September 6, 2024 at 11:00 AM at the Upper Octorara Cemetery, 357 Octorara Road, Parkesburg, PA 19365.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in his memory to St. Judes Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place Memphis, TN 38105.
