John R. Ford

John R. Ford, 77, of Parkesburg, passed away on June 18, 2018, at the Neighborhood Hospice Center in West Chester.  He was the loving husband of Gloria Spengler Ford with whom he was married for 57 years.

Born in Coatesville, he was the son of the late Henrietta Ella Reynolds and Ralph Ford.  An area resident, he attended Scott High School and was employed by Andrew F. Cigas Machine Shop of Coatesville, in Shipping and Receiving.  He was a member of the Keystone Valley Fire Co., formerly known as Parkesburg Fire Co., and the former Brandywine Fire Co.  He loved to garden, enjoyed all family activities which was anything the children or grandchildren were involved in.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by his three children, Sherri Dorsheimer and husband Steve of Honey Brook, Tina Parker of Gap, John R. Ford, Jr. and wife Sakina of Land-O-Lakes, Florida and five grandchildren, Julia and Natalie Dorsheimer, Cathryn Ford,  Anissa and Joshua Ford and his wife Katie.  He is also survived by his sister, Barbara Richards, and stepsister, Victoria Zelesnick and half-brother, Paul Ford.  Preceded in death by his siblings, Ruth Harvey and Jerry Ford.

Funeral Services will be held on Friday, June 22, 2018 at 11:00 AM at the Wilde Funeral Home, 434 Main Street, Parkesburg, PA, followed by interment at Limeville United Methodist Cemetery.  Friends and family are invited to attend the viewing from 9 to 11 AM.
