John Louis Duffy, 88, of Gap, passed away on Tuesday, May 29th, 2012 at the Veterans Administration Hospice Center. He was the husband of Janice R. (Allison) Duffy, with whom he shared 16 and a half years of marriage.
Born in Philadelphia, he was the son of the late Arthur and Sarah (Carroll) Duffy. John was retired from both Milprint Inc. of Downingtown and McCullough Leasing of Eagle.
He served honorably in WWII in the US Navy as a submarine Torpedoman.
He was a parishioner of the Our Lady of Consolation Church of Parkesburg, and member in the Knights of Columbus. He was also a member of the American Legion and the Men of Malvern.
John is survived, in addition to his wife, by two children: Mary Jane Welsh, wife of Thomas, of Wilmington and John L. Duffy, Jr., husband of Anne, of Holmes, Pa.; five grandchildren, Tom Welsh, Anne Undorf, Colleen Surace, Sean Duffy and Brian Duffy; and four great grandchildren.
The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, June 4th, 2012 at 11 AM at the Our Lady of Consolation Church, 603 West 2nd Avenue, Parkesburg, PA. Interment will be held in the Indiantown Gap National Cemetery in Annville.
The viewing will be held at the Church from 10 until 11 AM.
