John Joseph Cordivano, Sr.

John Joseph Cordivano, Sr., 85, of Parkesburg, passed away on Saturday, December 18th under the care of Brandywine Hospital.  He was the beloved husband of Sara Marie Cordivano, with whom he shared 63 years of marriage.

Born in Toughkenamon, Pa., he was the son of the late Elizabeth (Miller) and Guy Cordivano.  He was a 1954 graduate of Kennett Consolidated High School in Kennett Square PA.  He worked as a manager at Laurel Valley Farms in Avondale, PA.  He was qualified as an expert grower in the Mushroom Industry and did consulting work in Quito Ecuador South America.

John belonged to Oxford Church of the Nazarene and served on the Local Church Board. He taught Sunday School for a number of years and lead 3 missionary trips.

John served in the Delaware Army National Guard. He enjoyed participating in and watching the playing of various sports. Hunting, fishing, boating, hiking, and reading were all a part of his interests.

He loved his family and enjoyed spending time with them.

He is survived, in addition to his wife, by his children: John Cordivano, Jr., Rebecca Kinder, Philip Cordivano, and Joanna Aubry; grandchildren, Nadine Herbert, Brittani Kinder, Adrielle Miner, Conner Kinder, Katherine Cordivano, Sara Aubry, and Jennifer Aubry; and great-granddaughter, Isabella Miner; siblings, sister Josephine Del Nero and brother Michael Cordivano.  He was predeceased by his brothers Francis Cordivano and Robert Miller.

There will a private graveside service for immediate family only.

A memorial service will be held at the Nazarene Church in Oxford, PA on the 22nd day of January at 11:00 AM.
