John F. Schmidt

John F. Schmidt, 80, of Christiana, PA, passed away on Friday, February 14, 2020 at the Brandywine Hospital. He was the husband of the late Margaret A. Rodgers Schmidt who died in 2009. Born in Chester, PA he was the son of the late John A. Schmidt and Catherine Taylor Schmidt.

John was an area resident most of his life. He attended the former St. Cecilia's School in Coatesville. He was employed for 40 years by the former Lipkins Furniture Store in Coatesville retiring in 2011.

He is survived by five children; John F. Schmidt, Jr. of Coatesville, PA, Catherine A. Underwood and husband Robert of New Holland, PA, Matthew D. Schmidt and wife Karen of East Fallowfield, PA, Bruce K.Schmidt of Christiana, PA and Michael A. Schmidt of East Earl, PA, ten grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren and two siblings; Patricia Hatfield of Florida, and Richard Schmidt, Sr. of East Earl, PA. He was preceded in death by four siblings; Barbara Gilbert, Ralph Schmidt, Robert Schmidt, Sr., and William Schmidt, Sr.
