Joanna E. Augustine

Joanna E. Augustine, 79, of Coatesville, died on Friday, June 5, 2015 at the Jefferson Hospital in Philadelphia. She was the beloved wife of William "Sonny" Augustine, Jr. Married on Feb. 29, 1964, they shared 52 years of marriage. Born in Coatesville, she was the daughter of the late Mervin and Margaret Holland Moyer.

An area resident all her life, she graduated from the former Scott High School. She was employed by the Lukens Steel Co. and more recently was employed by the Chester Co. Intermediate Unit as a teachers' aide. She was a member of the Wagontown Union Chapel.

She is survived, in addition to her husband, by three children; Michael Augustine of West Chester, Kevin Augustine of Coatesville and Susan, wife of Anthony Semiao of Purcellville, VA, one granddaughter Lindsay Elizabeth Semiao and three sisters; Gloria Davis of Reading, PA, Geraldine Barham of Tulsa, OK and Constance Wills of E. Fallowfield, PA.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, June 9, 2015 at 11am from the Wagontown Union Chapel, 469 W. Kings Highway, Coatesville, PA followed by interment at the Fairview Cemetery in Coatesville. Viewing at the church from 10 to 11am. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in her memory to the American Cancer Society, 1626 Locust St. Philadelphia, PA 19103.
