Joann Steczak

Joann K. Steczak, 71, of Coatesville, PA, passed away on Wednesday, March 26, 2025, in West Chester, PA. She was the wife of Michael J. Steczak of Coatesville and would have celebrated their 32nd anniversary on April 3. Born in West Chester on April 22, 1953, she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Annabelle Harry O'Brien.

Joann graduated from Henderson High School of West Chester in 1971. She worked at Wyeth Laboratories (now Pfizer) in West Chester. She also worked in housekeeping at Pocopson Home, Busy Bee's and Four Season in Lionville, PA.

Besides her husband she is survived by a daughter, Melissa A. Messner of Coatesville, grandchildren, Khali David Truitt of Ohio, Dylan A. Maddan of Downingtown, PA, and Brandon and Stephine Messnier of Martins Corner, PA, a sister, Maxine Hall of Delaware, and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by a sister, Sharon Culley, brother-in-law, Ronald Culley, and brother-in-law, Gene Hall.

A Celebration of Life memorial service will be held on Saturday, April 19, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. from the Wilde Funeral Home, Parkesburg, PA, with visitation starting at 10:00 a.m. Interment will be private and at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the American Lung Association.
