Joan A. Grow

Joan A. Grow, 85, of West Brandywine Township, passed away on Sunday July 16, 2023 after a brief stay at the Tel-Hai Nursing Home, Honey Brook, PA. She was the widow of the late Samuel James Grow who died in 2004. Born in Parkesburg, she was the daughter of the late Raymond Wesley Millard and Evelyn Jeanette Hess Millard.

Joan grew up in Parkesburg and was a 1956 graduate of the former Parkesburg High School. She was employed by the Philadelphia Electric Company in the accounting department. In her later years she worked and volunteered at the Brandywine Hospital.

Joan was a very devoted mother. She enjoyed company. She loved talking and teasing friends. She especially liked listening to Chris and his friends talk about hunting and fishing adventures. She loved cooking, baking, watching the Philly's and Jeopardy. Joan was a caring and loving lady that a few people called "Mom Grow". Most of all she loved sitting on the swing watching the birds and throwing the ball for dog Allie who preceded her in death.

She is survived by one son Christopher M. Grow and fiancé Bonnie Emel of West Brandywine. She was preceded in death by one son Adam Grow.

Services and burial will be private at the convenience of the family. At Joan's request,memorial donations may be made in her memory to St. Judes Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place Memphis, TN 38105.
