Jennifer Wood

It is with great sorrow to announce the passing of Jennifer Wood on November 27, 2023, at the age of 82.  Jennifer was born in New York City on September 10, 1941, to Catherine Williamson Wood and Francis Carter Wood Jr.

Jennifer grew up in Doylestown, PA, and was a graduate of Central Bucks High School.

Jennifer had a very successful 23 year career as a model with Eileen Ford Agency in New York City.  During the 1960's and 1970's she appeared in magazines, such as Vogue and Bazaar, as well as various catalogues like J.C. Penny, Montgomery Ward, and Sears. She was a model and guest star on the T.V. show "What's My Line" from 1968 to 1975.

Jennifer was also an accomplished equestrian who qualified and competed at Madison Square in New York in 1968.  She had a role as  "Doreen Aldrich" on the soap opera, "The Doctors" in 1977.

After her modeling, equestrian, and acting careers, Jennifer spent 15 years in real estate in Connecticut.  She then traveled to Honesdale, PA and became Director of Advertising for Yoga International Magazine at the Himalayan Institute.

Jennifer enjoyed painting, sculpting, meditation, volunteering at the library, and spending time with her sister and extended family.

She is survived by her sister, Judith Fitzpatrick and her husband , John , of Coatesville, PA, four nieces, three nephews, four great nices, and eight great nephews.

To those who knew and loved her, she was a kind and gentle soul.

A private ceremony will be held with only close family members present.  A Celebration of Life service will be planned in the summer of 2024 and details will be posted here when completed.
