Jean E. Leary, 85, of Tel Hai Retirement Community in Honey Brook, passed away on Sunday, November 5th at Chester County Hospital. She was the widow of William J. "Peachy" Leary, who died in 2007 after 47 years of marriage.
Born in Doe Run, Jean was the daughter of the late Frances (Patton) and Walter Linnenbaugh. She was a 1950 graduate of Unionville High School.
Jean worked as a clerk at Chester County Courthouse for over 50 years. She was a member of Romansville United Methodist Church, where she was a Lay Leader, Choir member and an officer of The United Methodist Women. Jean volunteered at Tel Hai Retirement Community in the Mail Room, the Flea Market and with physical therapy.
Jean was a legendary character who was much beloved and will be sorely missed. She is survived by her brother, Walter Linnenbaugh and wife Bonnie of Mill Hall, PA, and many cousins, friends, and other relatives. She was predeceased by her sister, Shirley McDonnell in 2010, and her aunts, Betty Patton and Ruth Wertz.
The Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, November 11th at 2 PM at Tel Hai Chapel, 1200 Tel Hai Cir, Honey Brook, PA 19344, with a viewing from 1 until 2 PM.
