Janet M. Supplee

Janet Marie Supplee, 94, of West Caln Twp., passed away at her home on Wednesday, May 31, 2017. She was the widow of the late Earl H. Supplee who died in 2006. They shared 64 years of marriage together. Born in Sadsbury Twp., she was the daughter of the late Robert Roy MacNeal and Mabel Esbenshade MacNeal.

Janet was an area resident all her life and a 1941 graduate of the former Scott High School in Coatesville.  She was employed by the Singer Sewing Company in Coatesville and Lancaster retiring in 1969. She continued as a dressmaker until 2005. Janet also volunteered over 1500 hours at the Coatesville and Brandywine Hospitals.

Janet was a longtime member of the Upper Octorara Presbyterian Church where she was active with the Church Women's Association. She was also a member of the Sadsbury Garden Club and the Chris Penn Chapter #455 Order of the Eastern Star.

She and her husband Earl enjoyed over 30 years of square dancing, camping and traveling throughout the US and Canada.

She is survived by two children;  Jane M., wife of Michael McDevitt of West Caln and Frances "Bonnie" McCoy of West Caln, seven grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren, six great-great-grandchildren, two sisters; Ann MacVeagh of  IL. and Dorothy Young of AZ, daughter-in-law Berniece Supplee of Downingtown and sister-in-law Dorothy Shumate of New Holland. She was preceded in death by her son Robert W. Supplee, Sr., son-in-law Donald McCoy and two sisters Naomi Hoopes and Alice Garrison.

The funeral service will be held on Monday, June 5th, 2017 at 11 AM at Wilde Funeral Home, 434 Main St., Parkesburg, followed by interment in Upper Octorara Cemetery of Parkesburg.  The viewing will be from 9:30 to 10:45 AM, at which time there will be an Eastern Star Service.
