James W. Anderson, 93, formerly of Westwood and Pomeroy, passed away on Sunday, August 11th, 2013 at the Tel Hai Retirement Community. He was the widower of the late Dorothy M. (Wallace) Anderson who died in 2010.
Born in Downingtown, James was the son of the late Elizabeth and William Anderson.
An area resident most of his life, James was employed by the former Lukens Steel for over 40 years as a machinist, retiring in 1982.
He attended Central Baptist Church of Pomeroy and was a former member of the Westwood Union.
He is survived by three daughters; Judy, wife of Gary Good of Cornwall, Joy, wife of Ben Witkowski of Coatesville and Jackie, wife of Bob Gillespie of Downingtown, five grandchildren, and six great grandchildren.
He was predeceased by his siblings, Helen Whiteman, Eli Anderson, Catherine Pavelik, William Anderson, Edward Anderson and half-sister, May Engle.
The funeral services will be held on Friday, August 16 at 11:00 am the Tel Hai Chapel, 1200 Tel Hai Circle, Honey Brook, PA, followed by interment at the Pequea Presbyterian Cemetery. The viewing will be held at the Chapel from 10:00 am to the time of the service.
