James Russell Weaver

June 14, 1946 — November 7, 2022

James Russell Weaver, 76, of Oxford, PA, passed away on Monday, November 7, 2022, in Elkton, MD.  He was the husband of Charlotte Marie Sadnick Weaver for over 54 years.  Born in Bellfountain, OH, he was the son of the late Warren W. and Beatrice G. Wilson Weaver.

James proudly served his country in the United States Navy.  He really enjoyed his time aboard the USS Macdonough DLG 8.

Before retiring, James was a pressman for R.R. Donnelley printing company for over 32 years.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by his children, Tracy Ann (Jon) Perkins of Normal, IL, Heidi Lyn (John) Thompson of Oxford, PA, seven grandchildren Andrew (K'thena) Perkins Bloomington IL, Justin Perkins Tower Hill, IL, Lauryn (Bryce) Painter Lebanon, PA, CTI 2 James Thompson of Maryland, John Paul Thompson Oxford, PA, Morgan Thompson Oxford, PA and Bella "Mouse" Thompson Oxford, PA four great-grandchildren James was preceded in death by one granddaughter Aubrey Thompson Oxford, PA. He is also survived by his siblings William W. (Shirley) Weaver of Morris, IL, and John C. (Margaret) Weaver of Dwight, IL.

Funeral services will be private and at the convenience of the family. Per James' request, burial will be at sea honors by the United States Navy.

James was a family man, his family meant the world to him.  His face always beamed with pride whenever he spoke about Charlotte, his daughters and especially his grand and great-grandchildren.  He loved all animals mostly dogs. He had a great love and respect for nature. He loved to go camping and fishing. He relished sitting and counting Turkey Buzzards.  James had many hobbies that included painting, drawing and reading about history. James was a self taught woodworker who loved to carve figurines and bowls. One of his favorite woodworking projects was making baby cradles for his daughters and toys for the grandchildren. During the height of covid even though James was ill and still seeing doctors he sewed close to 1000 masks that he gave to the nurses and physicians when he would go to appointments.  James was very much loved by many especially his family who will miss him tremendously and hold him close to their hearts forever.
