James R. Anderson, Sr.

James R. Anderson, Sr., 78, of Nottingham, PA died on Saturday, July 1, 2017 at the Christiana Hospital in Newark, DE. He was the beloved husband of Donna F. McCarter Anderson with whom he shared 44 years of marriage. Born in Glenrose, East Fallowfield Township, he was the son of the late E. Harold Anderson and Minnie Mae Smith Anderson.

Jim was an area resident all his life. He was employed by the former Lukens Steel Company in Coatesville. Later in life, he worked part time as a house painter. He will be remembered by many for coaching local baseball for over 50 years. He was a member of the Mt. Vernon Christian Church, Kirkwood, PA.

He is survived, in addition to his wife, by two sons; James R. Anderson, Jr. of Nottingham and Ryan M. Anderson and wife Jody of Coatesville, stepson James Randy Myers of Nottingham, four grandchildren, four great grandchildren and four siblings; Betty Fred of Coatesville, Peg Waters of Coatesville, Bob Anderson and Doug Anderson of Coatesville. He was preceded in death by one daughter Debra L. Anderson.

Memorial services will be held on Saturday, July 15, 2017 at 11:00am from the Wilde Funeral Home, 434 Main St., Parkesburg, PA. with visitation from 10:00am to 11:00am.
