James E. Swaim of Nashville, TN, formerly of Parkesburg, PA, died Thursday, August 25, 2016 surrounded by his family. He was preceded in death by his wife of 56 years, Renée. He is also preceded in death by his parents, Reitzel and Mary Swaim of Parkesburg, PA.

He was a loving, generous, dependable father, pop-pop, and great grandfather. He was an honest and hardworking man who dedicated himself to an extraordinarily successful, life long career in the insurance industry.  In addition to providing an abundant life for his family, he also faithfully supported his churches and communities wherever he lived.

He is survived by his loving family; Son: Scott Swaim (Stephanie) of Woodbridge, VA; four Daughters; Deborah Hettinger (Harry) of Dover, DE, Karen Conner of Ocean City, MD, Susan Swaim of Nashville, TN, Dr. Cynthia R. Fisher-Hernandez (Dr. Andres Hernandez) of Raleigh, NC; 12 Grandchildren; John Smullen III (Heather), Katherine Magda (Andrew), Ethan & Owen Swaim, Shawn P. Conner, Esq., William, & Matthew Conner, Allison & Grant Fisher, Gabriel, David, & Sylvia Hernandez; Great-grandchildren: Adam Smullen & Lucas Magda; Brothers; Reitzel Swaim (Doris) & Robah Swaim (Gloria) and Brother-in-law James W. Franciscus.

A joint Memorial service for James & Renée Swaim will be held on Saturday, September 10th, 2016 at 11:00am from the Wilde Funeral Home, 434 Main St. Parkesburg, PA followed by interment at the Penningtonville Presby. Cemetery in Atglen, PA. Visitation from 10 to 11:00 am.
