James Chambers Buchanan

James Chambers Buchanan, 88, of Parkesburg, passed away at his home on Monday, March 22, 2021, after a lengthy illness. He was the beloved husband of Patricia Hilton Buchanan with whom he shared 67 years of marriage. Born in Thorndale, he was the son of the late William Lewis Buchanan, Sr. and Catherine L. Markle Buchanan.

Jim was an area resident all his life and a 1950 graduate of the former H. Scott High School in Coatesville. He served in both the National Guard and the US Army and was a Korean War veteran.

He worked as a journeyman machinist and retired from McGuckin and Pyle in Downingtown, PA in 1998.

He was a member of the Chester County Hunting Club, the American Legion, and the VFW.  He enjoyed hunting and spending time at the club's cabin in Bradford County and was an avid model railroader.

He is survived, in addition to his wife, by one daughter Lori A. Buchanan of Parkesburg, and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by two siblings; Constance C. McGowan and William L. Buchanan, Jr.
