Howard E. Smith

Howard E. Smith, 70, formerly of Gap, went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, December 4, 2014 at the Chester Valley Rehab & Nursing Center. Born in Parkesburg, he was the son of the late Edgar and Anna Thomas Smith.
An area resident all his life, he attended the former Parkesburg School. He was employed by the Anderson Bakery and had also worked at the former Lukens Store in Coatesville.
He was a member of the Parkesburg VFW and also the Parkesburg Fire Co.

He is survived by two sons; Howard E. Smith, Jr. and wife Tina of Maryland and Louis Smith of Lebanon, PA, one granddaughter Katlin Smith and two siblings; Ruth I. Mowday of Honey Brook and Joseph S. Smith of Quarryville. He was preceded in death by four siblings; Clifton Smith, Donald Smith, Nancy Watts and Linda Rutledge.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, December 9, 2014 at 11am from the Wilde Funeral Home, 434 Main St. Parkesburg, PA followed by interment at the Upper Octorara Cemetery. Viewing from 10 to 11am.
