Horace W. Lowery

Horace W. Lowery, 75, of Pomeroy, passed away on Wednesday October 22, 2008 at the Coatesville VA Hospice Center. He was the husband of Larelda McLaughlin Lowery with whom he shared 55 years of marriage.

Born in Parkesburg, he was the son of the late Horace W. Lowery and Catherine Cremmin Keshuta. Horace was an area resident all his life. He served in the US Army during the Korean War. He was employed by Lukens Steel of Coatesville as a rigger retiring in 1985 with 32 years of service.

Horace was a member of the Pomeroy Methodist Church, the Parkesburg VFW Post #4480, Lukens Veterans Guild and a life member of the Pomeroy Fire Company. He enjoyed watching western movies and NASCAR, riding motorcycles and smoking Camel cigarettes.

He is survived, in addition to his wife, by one daughter Penny A. Killian of Coatesville, one grandson Mick Killian and wife Rachael of Honey Brook, three cousins, Marion Ewing of Oxford, Robert Cremmin and Kathleen Kozacheson both of Coatesville, and special niece and nephew, Kelly McLaughlin and Jared Dalmas.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, October 28, 2008 at 11:00 am from the Wilde Funeral Home, 434 Main St. Parkesburg with a viewing from 10am to the time of the service. Interment will be private.
