Harry D. Weyman

December 22, 1933 — November 8, 2020

Harry D. Weyman, age 86, of Coatesville, PA passed away on Sunday, November 8, 2020, at the Reading Hospital surrounded by his children. He was the husband of Eleanor (Pearl) Weyman for over 58 years. Born in Philadelphia he was the son of the late William and Lena (Wiesman) Weyman.

Harry attended the old Northeast High School in Philadelphia, PA. While in the United States Air Force, he received his GED and proudly served during the Korean War at Elmendorf A.F.B. Anchorage, Alaska. He worked for Eastern Airlines for 33 years at Philadelphia International Airport and retired in 1988. He went on to work for the Chester County Intermediate Unit as the Transportation Manager and served in this role for 11 years where he facilitated the safe transportation of the special needs students from the Child and Career Development Center. He found the work so rewarding he returned for a period of 8 years working as a Substitute Courier and left in 2013. After retiring from Chester County Intermediate Unit, he went on to continue to pursue his passion of driving by working for Jeff D’Ambrosio & Courtesy Chrysler where he worked as a fleet driver until recently.

He was a member of the Hopewell United Methodist Church in Downingtown for over 40 years. He served in many ministries, including the Passion Play, the United Methodist Men’s Group, and the Weekly Counter Group. In his retirement years he found great joy in giving to others, these included the church, Chester County Food Bank, and the Bridge of Hope in Coatesville, just to name a few.

He is survived, in addition to his wife, by his children, David (Lisa) Weyman of Lanham, MD., Janice Heagy of Coatesville, Harry (Joni) Flanagan of Colorado Springs, CO., a grandson, Zachary Heagy, and granddaughter, Isabella Heagy both of Coatesville. He adored his wife, his children, his two grandchildren and his extended family. His family and friends were everything to him.

He was preceded in death by five siblings, Elizabeth Weyman, Anna Noble, Myrtle Keisling, Earl Weyman, and William Weyman.

Harry was charitable to all, in lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made in his memory to a charity or cause of your choosing.

Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Wilde Funeral Home of Parkesburg, PA.
