Gloria Ann Ryerson Jacobs

Gloria Ann Ryerson Jacobs, 77, of Avondale, passed away on Friday, July 10, 2009 at her home, with her beloved husband of 40 years, Wallace Gerald "Jerry" Jacobs, at her side. She will be remembered as a loving spouse and best friend.

Born in Detroit, MI, Gloria was the daughter of the late Isabel Clark and James H. Ryerson. She had been employed as a Receptionist by the Daily Local News of West Chester. Gloria loved gardening, her home and pets.

She is survived, in addition to her husband, by her sister-in-law, Judith White, brother-in-law, Wesley Jacobs, nieces, Adrienne Jacobs Ronmark, Jill White Dinkins and Shelley White Dodd, and nephew, Jon White.

The Graveside Service will be held on Monday, July 13, 2009 at 11 a.m. at the Union Hill Cemetery, Kennett Square.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in Gloria's memory to the Maine State Society for the Protection of Animals, P.O. Box 10, South Windham, ME 04082 or to the Pennsylvania Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals, 350 E. Erie Ave., Philadelphia, PA 19134.
