Glenna Hurley Adams, 81, of Wagontown, passed away peacefully on May 21, 2018, at home, where she was surrounded by her loving family. She was the wife of the late Verdie (Hank) Adams, Jr., who preceded her in death in 2002 after 42 years of marriage.
Born in West Chester and raised in Embreeville, she was the daughter of the late Fred and Lucy Hurley.
She was a 1954 graduate of Unionville Consolidated Schools, where she finished third in her class. She was employed by the Chester County Hospital, retiring in 1982 from the role of business office manager.
After retirement, she devoted her time and energy to caring for and assisting her family and friends and volunteering at her beloved church, Wagontown Union Chapel, where she served as an office assistant for many years. She was an avid supporter of her five grandchildren, rarely missing a game, performance, or event in which they were involved.
She is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Christopher and Rita Adams of Lititz; a daughter and son-in-law, Marilou and Jonathan Horblinski of Wagontown; a sister, Edna Plummer of Downingtown; five grandchildren, Caitlin and C.J. Adams of Lancaster, and Dana Horblinski, Shelby Wiggins, and Zachary Horblinski of Wagontown; and a great granddaughter, Teghan Wiggins. She was preceded in death by a sister, Helen Fernandez, and two brothers, Elmer and Wayne Hurley.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, May 24, 2018 at 11 AM at the Wagontown Union Chapel 469 W, Kings Hwy., Coatesville, Pa. followed by interment at the Romanville Methodist Cemetery. Visitation at the church from 9 - 11 AM. Memorial donations may be made in her name to the Wagontown Union Chapel, P.O. Box 200, Wagontown, PA 19376.
