Gertrude N. Carpenter

Gertrude N. Carpenter, 86, of Sadsburyville, Pa., passed away on Saturday, January 24, 2015 at her home, surrounded by her beloved family.  She was the beloved wife of Frank G. Carpenter, Sr., with whom she shared 67 years of marriage.

Born West Chester, she was the daughter of the late Annie (Holroyd) and John Crabtree.

An area resident her entire life, she was a 1946 graduate of West Chester High School.

She enjoyed working in her flower garden and spending time with her family.

She is survived, in addition to her beloved husband, by her three children: Nancy Yarnall, wife of Phil, Linda Manning, wife of Bruce, and Frank Carpenter Jr., husband of Susan; four grandchildren; four great grandchildren and three step great grandchildren.

The Funeral Service will be held on Thursday, January 29th, 2015 at 11 AM at the Wagontown Chapel, 469 West Kings Highway, Coatesville, PA 19320 followed by interment in the Upper Octorara Cemetery of Parkesburg.  The viewing will be held from 10 until 11 AM.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to either the Wagontown Union Chapel, P.O. Box 200, Wagontown, PA 19376 or Neighborhood Hospice, 400 East Marshall Street, West Chester, PA 19380.
