Gerald & Carolyn Glendenning

d. December 9, 2020

Carolyn Marie Glendenning, daughter of Leroy and Katie Reiff, was born on October 9, 1932. She graduated from Collegeville-Trappe High School in 1950 and was employed for many years as a secretary with the Perkiomen Valley School District. She was affectionately known to students as “Mrs G.” Gerald Glendenning was born on August 6, 1932 and was raised by his foster parents, James and Alice Renner. At age 17, he enlisted in the military, serving in the 82 nd Airborne, from 1949-1953. He was also a devoted employee for Bell Atlantic until retirement. Gerald and Carolyn were married on August 9, 1953 and are survived by four daughters- Kathleen (Joseph) Warsheski, Karleen (Steven) McAdams, Debra (Brent) Francis-Werner and Dawn (John) McClure, 10 grandchildren- Eric, Ethan, Anthony, Jessica, Heather, Shawn, Sarah, Joseph, Kaitlyn, Michaela and 12 great-grandchildren. Carolyn is also survived by her brother Wesley Reiff, his wife Joyce and their children, Daniel and Cheryl. Upon retirement, Gerry and Carol were inseparable- whether working on the homestead that they cherished, traveling, enjoying time with their children and grandchildren or rescuing feral cats. What their children will remember and honor most about them was their intense love and loyalty for each other. Carol departed this earth on December 6, 2020 and Gerry, in his final act of making Carol wait for him, departed this earth on December 9, 2020. Their earthly suffering has ended and they are safely in the arms of our Lord, Jesus Christ. His daughters are eternally grateful to the staff at Einstein Medical Center-Montgomery, Phoenixville Hospital and Season’s Hospice, who lovingly cared for them in their absence until their passing.
