George S. Kovach

George Stephen Kovach, 84, of Parkesburg, PA, passed away at his home on Wednesday, June 19, 2024.  He was the husband of Jean Ann (D'Angelo) Kovach.  Born in Lebanon, PA, he was the son of the late John S. and Alvena M. (Gettle) Kovach.

George was a graduate of Millersville University and was a high school math teacher for over 39 years at Unionville High School, West Chester Henderson and West Chester East High School.  George enjoyed the outdoors, especially hunting and shooting.  He enjoyed motorcycling, classic cars, coin collecting and was an advocate in politics.  He cherished time spent with his family, including the wrestling careers of his sons in high school and college and the times spent with his grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his son George S. Kovach II (Beth McGrath of Honey Brook).

Besides his wife, he is survived by his sons, John (Colleen Rysak) of Coatesville, PA, and Stephen (Deborah Spiritosanto) of Houston, TX, and grandchildren, Luke, Lilly, Travis, Anna and Daniel.

Funeral services will be held on Monday, June 24, 2024, at 3:00 p.m. from the Wilde Funeral Home, Parkesburg, with visitation from 1:00 p.m. until service time.  Interment to follow at Glen Run Cemetery in Atglen, PA.  In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to The Travis Manion Foundation.
