George I. "Bud" Mcginnis

George I. "Bud" McGinnis, 66, of Highland Twp., passed away on Sunday, August 19th at Tower West Reading Hospital.  He was the son of the late Minerva (Lantz) and George Ira McGinnis, Sr.

A lifelong area resident, he was a graduate of Octorara High School and a graduate of Lancaster Bible College.

Bud served honorably in the US Army.

He was self-employed as a painter.

Bud was an avid hunter.

Bud loved being with his brothers in the mountains hunting or just hanging out, also with his nieces and nephews. His faith in God was unwavering and it was evident  in his relationships to people around him. Everyone felt the results of his kindness.

Bud loved history and read many books, he also loved taking mini trips with whoever would go with him.

He is survived by his siblings: Pearl Canale of Gap, Sharon Stoltzfus of Gap, Barbara McGinnis of Philadelphia, Rodger McGinnis of Gap, Doris McGinnis of Parkesburg, Daryal McGinnis of Mohnton, Darlene Porter of Paradise, and Christine Landis of Paradise.

The Funeral Service will be held on Tuesday, August 28th, 2018 at 11 AM at Wilde Funeral Home, 434 Main St., Parkesburg, followed by interment in Millwood Cemetery of Gap.  The viewing will be from 10 until 11 AM.
