George Donald "Don" Wallace

George Donald "Don" Wallace of Coatesville passed away on Thursday, August 4, 2022, at Newport Meadows ( the former Harrison House Senior Living) in Christiana, PA.

He was the husband to Mary Ella Beale Wallace and lived at Harrison House in Coatesville. Born in Modena, PA, he was the son of the late George B. and Nellie Shaw Wallace.  He was preceded in death by a sister, Helen Pyott.

Don attended Coatesville High School until 1944 when he joined the US Navy and served faithfully during W.W.II on the USS Newman K. Perry.

After the war, Don was self-employed, first operating the G. Donald Wallace Garage in Atglen, PA, and later as a long-haul truck driver. Don was a member of the Skerrett Lodge of Free and Accepted Masons No. 343 for 64 years.

Don loved and owned horses and fox-hunted throughout Chester County.  He was an avid golfer. He loved Big Band music and dancing.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, August 11, 2022, at 11:00 a.m. from the Wilde Funeral Home, 434 Main St., Parkesburg, with visitation starting at 10:00 a.m. Interment will be at Memory Gardens in Ephrata at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to; Amedisys Foundation, 3854 American Way ( Suite A) Baton Rouge, LA, 70816.
