Gary T. Neilson, Sr.

Gary T. Neilson, Sr., 78, of Parkesburg, passed away on Friday, January 1, 2016, surrounded by family, under the care of Neighborhood Health Hospice of West Chester.  He was the widower of the late Carmela (Amabile) Neilson with whom he shared 32 years of marriage.  He leaves behind his fiancé, Cynthia M. Fitz.

Born in Cresson, Pa., Gary was the son of the late Christine (Gallagher) and August Neilson.

Gary was a parishoner of Our Lady of Consolation Church of Parkesburg and belonged to the Knights of Columbus.

He worked for 50 years in the automotive field, first at Sheehy Lincoln-Mercury of Springfield and later at Chapman Lincoln-Mercury as the Parts Manager.

Gary is survived by his two children: Gary T. Neilson Jr. of Clifton Heights, Pa. and Michele M. Wilson of Lakeland, Fl; one grandchild and two great grandchildren; his siblings, Patrick Neilson, Sr. of Portage, Pa., Virginia Rice of Broomall, Pa., and Peggy Ann Stevens of Cresson, Pa.

The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, January 8th, 2016 at 11 AM at Our Lady of Consolation Church, 603 W 2nd Ave, Parkesburg, PA 19365.  The viewing will be held from 10 until 11 AM.

In lieu of flowers, a donation may be made in Gary's memory to either the Neighborhood Health, 400 East Marshall Street, West Chester, PA 19380 or to American Cancer Society,  P.O. Box 22718, Oklahoma City, OK 73123-1718.
