Gary Irvin Simmers

Gary Irvin Simmers, 81, of Coatesville passed away at his residence on Saturday, April 8, 2023. Born in Coatesville, he was the son of the late Irvin Simmers and Bertha (Bradway) Simmers. He was the beloved husband of Tina Simmers with whom he shared 32 years of marriage.

Gary worked in the steel industry for most of his life, serving at both Allegany and most recently at Lukens Steel of Coatesville.

He is survived in addition to his wife by seven children: Chris Simmers, Gary Simmers and wife Denise Simmers of Narvon, Melissa Bowman of Honey Brook, Shawn Simmers and wife Jody of Gap, PA, Douglas Johnson and wife Justina of Coatesville, Joshua Simmers of Coatesville, and Tyler Simmers, of Coatesville. Additionally, he is survived by one brother: Ronald Simmers of Georgia.

He is preceded in death by one daughter: Pamela (Simmers) Morris.

Funeral services will be private and at the convenience of the family.
