Gary G. Gatano

Gary G. Gatano, 73, of Coatesville, PA, passed away on Sunday, January 7, 2024, in Philadelphia, PA.  He was the beloved husband of Ann Shank Gatano with whom he shared 50 years of marriage.  Born in Coatesville, PA, he was the son of the late Samuel J. and Catherine E. (Forti) Gatano.

Gary was a 1968 graduate of CASH. After high school, he got private pilot’s license and Airframe & Powerplant mechanic license. He retired from Millprint/Alcoa.  Gary operated the Repco Heating and Air Conditioning Service in Coatesville.  He enjoyed hunting and spending time with his grandchildren. He was involved in Boy Scouts. He enjoyed riding his bike at the beach to watch the boats.

Besides his wife he is survived by his children, Lisa (Michael) Gatano-Swisher of East Fallowfield, PA, and Jeff (Stephanie) Gatano of Palmyra, PA, grandchildren; Logan, Aidan, Abbie, Sadie, and Harrison, and siblings, Annarose (Bob) Gatano-Moore of Coatesville, and Anthony Gatano of Parkesburg, brother-in-law Don (Linda) Shank of Coatesville. He is also survived by his furry grandchildren, Lexi and Buddy.

Funeral services will held on Saturday, January 20, 2024, at 11:00 AM at the Wilde Funeral Home, 434 Main Street, Parkesburg, PA with visitation starting at 9:00 AM until service time.  Interment to follow at Hopewell Methodist Cemetery, Downingtown, PA.  In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to American Cancer Society.
