Frederick J. Rodgers, 72, of Muncy, Pa., formerly of Parkesburg and West Grove, passed away on Sunday, April 21, 2019, under the care Susquehanna Hospice at the Gatehouse of Williamsport, PA.
He was the beloved husband of Ellen (Flahart) Rodgers, with whom he shared 44 years of marriage.
Born in West Chester, Fred was the son of the late Margaret (Hamill) and Elmer W. Rodgers, Sr. Prior to be a resident for Muncy for the past 16 years, he was previously a resident of West Grove and Parkesburg.
Fred served honorably with the US Army during the Vietnam War from 1966 to 1968. He worked for LG Industries of Wagontown from 1976 to 1999, the Avon Grove School District in West Grove from 1999 to 2003, and the Geisinger Medical Center in Danville from 2004 to 2008.
Fred was a member of the Muncy Masonic Lodge #299, and he belonged to the Clarkstown Methodist Church.
He is survived, in addition to his wife, by his son John E. Rodgers of Muncy; his granddaughter, Anna Rodgers of Muncy; and his two brothers, Elmer (Doune) Rodgers of Decatur, IL, and Charles Rodgers, husband of Pat, of Bradenton, FL. He was predeceased by his siblings, Larry Rodgers and sister Joyce Rodgers.
The Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, April 27, 2019 at 11:00 AM at Wilde Funeral Home, 434 Main St., Parkesburg, Pa., followed by interment at Unionville Cemetery. The viewing will be from 10 AM until 11 AM.
In lieu of flowers, donations for the research of Normal Pressure Hydrocephalus can be made to The Johns Hopkins University (please include the name "Dr. Mark Luciano" in the memo of the check), and mailed to The Department of Neurosurgery, Kim Metzger, CFRE, Director of Development, Fund for Johns Hopkins Medicine, 550 North Broadway, Suite 727, Baltimore MD 21205.
